Dump and Export does not work

Hi team,

the mongodump and mongoexport commands does not work. It starts and there are those loading circles where e.g. the query-execute button originally is but nothing happens. There is no output.

I tried a manual export via cmd which works perfectly.

Do you try to use mongoexport via the mongoshell internally? I guess not because this would result in another error. However, it would be great if this feature would work. Probably I'm doing something wrong.

I'm working on Windows 10 (64bit) and already stored the ...\MongoDB\Server\3.4\bin path to my PATH-variable.

Best regards,

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Firstly thanks for using dbKoda.

We've investigated and we were able to reproduce your issue, there is a bug in our code causing the app to look in the wrong spot for your executables, we have a fix for this bug in place that will be released with the next version of the product.

In the meantime, as a work around you can explicitly set your mongo path in a config.yml file for our product to use;

1. Create or editor the file C:\Users\<Your_UserName>\.dbKoda\config.yml

2. Add the following line to the config.yml file: mongoCmd: <Path_To_The_Directroy_Containing_Mongo_Binaries> (For example mongoCmd: C:\mongodb\34\bin\ )

3. Restart the Product

The FAQ about setting that configuration can be found at this link (bit down the bottom): https://dbkoda.useresponse.com/knowledge-base/article/dealing-with-create-shell-connection-failed-errors

We tried this work around locally and it fixed the issue on our environment, but please let us know if it does not fix your problem and we can investigate further.

Kind Regards,

Michael.

Hi dbkoda team,

unfortunately your work around did not work for me. This is probably due to I already set the mongo\bin path in my PATH variable. However, for now I'm just using the command which is provided by dbkoda (while using the "Mongo Export" window) and copy&paste it in the cmd and directly use the mongoexport.exe etc. This works fine.

I'm looking forward for the new version which hopefully fix the error.

Keep on going. Your tool is pretty nice!

Best regards,

Tobias
