Not able to connect to mongodb in windows 10

I try to connect mongodb with default settings, but I am getting below error. (same setting is working with robomongo)

"Please check your mongo binary path, or define your own mongoCmd in ~/.dbKoda/config.yml"

I have added below config in the c:\Users\<username>\.dbKoda\config.yml but getting same error.

mongoCmd: "C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\3.4\bin"

Please help me to fix this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Khanin,

Firstly thanks for trying dbKoda, and apologies for this issue.

In your config.yml file, try modifying that line from:

mongoCmd: "C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\3.4\bin"
to:

mongoCmd: "C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\3.4\bin\mongo"
this is because the product is looking for the mongo executable at that location, rather than in the directory like an environment variable in your path might. Please let us know if this fixes the problem for you.

We're hoping to update the logic some time soon so it can search the directory and find your executable for you :)

Kind Regards,

Mike.

Hi Khanin,

Abject apologies for causing you these problems. We've reproduced the issue in-house and hope to have a hot fix that resolves the issue posted sometime this evening US time. I'll let you know as soon as the fix is available.

In the meantime, the only workaround I can offer would be to change your PATH to include c:\program files\MongoDB\Server\3.4\bin. I expect the hotfix to be posted by sometime in the early AM Pacific time.

Guy

Thanks Guy, I am able to connect mongodb, after adding the PATH.

But I am facing below issue while playing around the tool.

1) Sometime I am not able to open Simple Query. 5594ab6834e03e2c837df42191040484

2) Sometime tool taking very long (4-5min) in start up.

But overall this awesome tool great query builder, Most I like to see my collection statistics.

Hi Khanin,

Again apologies, we are trying to put some fix logic for a similar issue in the hot fix (which I really hope we will post today).

The most likely issue is that something has gone wrong in the file %HOMEPATH%/.dbKoda/stateStore.json. You could try deleting this file and if you wanted to send me the file (support@southbanksoftware.com) we could look at it and try to work out what is going on.

Unfortunately deleting the statestore.json will mean you need to re-input your connection details. We are working on that as well :-). So many bugs, so little time :-)

As for the slow startup times, that is something we have not seen. It could be related to the stateStore.json - can you see if the problem still exists when you have cleared the file?

Guy

Hi Khanin,

We have posted a hotfix to our website that may fix your issue. This version (0.7.2) fixes issues on Windows where the mongo.exe binary could not be launched as well as an issue in which dbKoda might hang after upgrade.

You can download the upgrade from https://www.dbkoda.com/#downloads. Please let us know if this resolves your issue.

Thanks,

Guy

Thanks Guy, After download the latest version I can open the tool and fire Query. I will send you the previous stateStore.json it might help you to find the issue cause earlier.

Thanks,

Khanin
